My name is Susan Marjorie Ratliff. Like many in natural health, I found the trade out of personal need. Conventional medicine couldn’t help me… in fact it was making things worse. I began the search for real solutions on my own, many years ago. Scientific research emerging at that time showed that the mind, emotions and body function as an integrated whole. I was intrigued: those modern findings corresponded perfectly with ancient knowledge, such as that preserved in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
I certified as a Massage Therapist, then as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. From somewhere I acquired a book called The Science of Homeopathy, by George Vithoulkas, and at that point I dived into homeopathic theory (and have never emerged from it!). I stayed up nights studying physiology; I took an excellent Western Herbal Medicine program, learned the fundamentals of TCM theory through independent study, then pursued Gemmotherapy (a specific kind of herbal medicine, widely used in Europe).
I completed practitioner training in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Over the years I have studied at three different homeopathic colleges to widen and deepen my understanding and practice.
At the heart of all these years of study has been deep contemplation about what health, sickness and medicine really are. The learning still continues, and always will. I continue to add to my education and most importantly I learn from each new person who shares their story with me. I would be pleased to help you reach your full health potential. I have a particular interest in children’s and women’s health but I welcome any inquiry.
Aside from healthcare, I’m passionate about ecology, and am a certified organic master gardener. I’m also an author. My book Homeopathy Rising: A Deep Introduction to Earth’s Fastest Growing Medicine will be available in summer 2025, and I’m working on a second edition of Little Earths, originally published in 2022.
